Do we need the history? I thought not. On September 11th, Kanye West released his third proper solo album. This highlyanticipated release followed two critically acclaimed albums, and was the third in Mr. West’s education-themed trilogy (also included: 2003’s “The College Dropout” and 2005’s “Late Registration”). With the release of “Graduation”, many felt that despite Kanye’s reputation as an amazing producer, solid rapper and undoubtedly legendary promoter, he would not be able to reach the level of his previous releases.
So lemme get something out in the beginning: I like myself a good musical. Be it "Little Shop of Horrors" or "Song and Dance" or Jesus Christ Superstar", if it has good music and intriguing stories, I love it. So a few months ago I found out about an upcoming Julie Taymor-directed project that told the story of a group of counter-culture friends in 1960's New York City. And they told it by using of 22 Beatles songs.

Well, I am angry. In fact, I wish I could scream from the rooftops, "If you make politically charged music, you need not have an amazing amount of talent." I like politically charged music, but I also stand behind the idea that musicality is essential.
I know, I know. This album HAS been out for a minute. I picked this disc back up when it first came out and trust me, I have been trying to knock this piece out since then. This is actually the fourth time that I have tried to write a review. But damn, Comm! Why you got to make something that pulls me in so?! Every time I sit back and start taking notes, I zone out for about 45 minutes later, and I realize that I just listened to the whole album and didn’t even notice the time passing by! I guess that's how you know you've got something good on your hands.
While many may consider the Vincent Black Shadow to be another No Doubt

female vocalist Cassandra Ford, TVBS provides a fresh perspective on
music.
