***TRIPLE UPDATE!!! Well, the show is over on the East Coast, and Central timezones. You West Coasters keep on rollin late into the night. We'll look forward to reading your zaniness in the morning.
**DOUBLE UPDATE! Well it's 8:50 Central time, and the west coast is about to start poppin. You may want jump to page 7
so that you can all come through at once. No need to write "spoiler"
after anything since you guys are the last ones to the party.
*Update: Well with Prince and Jimmy Jam both making appearances during
the show, it is clear that this is going to be a huge night for MN, and
for rockworms. But lets come up with a policy on spoilers (since the
west coast isn't watching until 11pm Eastern):
In the subject of each comment containing a spoiler, please put
"(spoiler)" at the end of your subject line. You can talk about
performances or wardrobe malfunctions all you want, but if you're
dropping kowledge about an award winner, please give us notice.
Thanks!
Anybody up for live blogging during the grammys tonight? We can just use the comments to have a convo and disucss the awesomeness. After all, the 2007 Grammys, and their suckiness gave birth to the idea that started rockworms.com: We all need a place to vent...and this is (a sad attempt at trying to become) that place.
Lock on and give me a holler in the comments if you're up for it!
When not trying to keep his name in the spotlight via writing a book, appearing on Celebrity Apprentice or liscensing his image to every possible availiable outlet, Gene Simmons spends his time bashing on the only industry where his *ehem* "talents" could have ever made him money.
The former (and maybe current...who really follows them) KISS frontman announced that his army of face-painted musicians will never again release an album due to what he refers to as a "dying industry". KISS, who has not released a new album since 1998 (and really, who actually remembers it?), has survived through the years due to over-the-top fan support often completely seperate to their actual music. And caskets. Lots and lots of caskets.
"There's no new Kiss material because there is no record industry. Any band who tries to do new material is trying to climb a slippery mountain," says Simmons.
Jimmy Jam to play at the Grammy's - I'm excited as anyone else, but since they're with Rhianna, I gotta say, I miss Morris Day and The Time...
In a sadder note, with the Mets getting set to play their final season at Shea, Billy Joel is lined up to play the last concert at Shea Stadium . To our New York writer...its gonna be an event...be there.
What an awesome video from *Shels. The video was released this week over at Rocksound. These guys have been busy, this is their second release in less than a year, and front man Medi Safa is also working with great new bands on his label *Shels Records.
