To find the Rocket Summer in your local music selection store, you
probably are going to have to wander into that undefined section of the
store known as Emo. While that is an elusive term, i don't know if it
deserves to be pinned upon The Rocket Summer. Though some of his music
could be placed there, it might be more apt to put him within the
Rock/Power Pop genre. Either way, i write this to put the name out
there and say...its good stuff.
Do we need the history? I thought not. On September 11th, Kanye West released his third proper solo album. This highlyanticipated release followed two critically acclaimed albums, and was the third in Mr. West’s education-themed trilogy (also included: 2003’s “The College Dropout” and 2005’s “Late Registration”). So lemme get something out in the beginning: I like myself a good musical. Be it "Little Shop of Horrors" or "Song and Dance" or Jesus Christ Superstar", if it has good music and intriguing stories, I love it.
