I, Adam, am a decrepitly poor stand-up comedy writer slash performer living in the #1 market in America, New York City. A lot of people rep “poor”, but I am really living it. I’m talking dollar store ketchup y’all. I’m holla’in bout MTA maps used as wall-art. Why? Cuz I can’t afford no knick-knacks! I’m real! I live with two BFF’s from high school and they are very patient.
A 2006 graduate from Azusa Pacific University in southern CA, I moved back to my native hometown of Seattle, WA for a year to really get my mind straight and figure out what I wanted to do with my life. Following a series of unfortunate, but fruitful events, I packed up and moved out to New York to achieve my dream of working professionally in comedy. I have preformed in L.A. with school performance groups Men Without Shirts, Pool Club, Midnight Breakfast, and Homo Steve & The S.T.D.’s. In Seattle, I was fortunate enough to have worked, written and studied with, amongst others Up-In-Arms, The Great Pretenders, West Seattle Theater Group, Jet City Improv, and more.
In 2005, my live news/talk radio show on Azusa, CA’s KAPU 104.7 FM was nominated for the College Broadcasters Inc. award for Best Regularly Scheduled Programming in the Entertainment category (”The Show”, served as host). I spent a total of four years as an on-air disc jockey in southern California. 2005 also saw the publication of Th1nk Press’ Ten Minutes with God, a book that I served in the role of contributing author, writing one chapter. In 2006, Thomas Nelson Publishing released Youth Ministry Sourcebook which as well contained a chapter which I penned. I have also served in a contributor role in the production of a Dr.Paul Brand memorial edition of In His Image and as a reference point in Dr. Margaret Brand’s autobiography (Vision for God; 2005).
Along with contributing published articles and press releases for The Los Angeles Times, The San Gabriel Valley Tribune, San Diego Sun, Pasadena Star-News, APU Life Magazine, The Clause, in 2007 I was named Editor-In-Chief of www.rockworms.com, a user created online music community based out of Minneapolis, MN.
Prior to moving to New York, Adam has been paid to hold jobs in the following fields and positions: Starbucks barista (two states), night-club bouncer, door-to-door wholesale paper salesman, national award-nominated on-air radio disc jockey, major film studio publicist dealing with Fox, Universal, Sony and more, university photo librarian, youth minister, published author, newspaper photographer, freelance media consultant for the Infectious Disease Research Institute, small venue concert roadie, organic pet food retailer and paper boy!
I moved to The Bronx, New York in mid February, 2008
