Shameless Plug: Adventureland

So, while we are most described as a music site, i would like to take this moment to say that i went and saw Adventureland this weekend and it was delightful. Not only did i laugh a little, but i feel like deep down i learned something, and that something was more than don’t even be a Carnie. However, my mini-pitch of the film does have music connections. The soundtrack and songs used within the film were flawless. From Lou Reed’s Satellite of Love to the Cure’s Just Like Heaven, the soundtrack perfectly places you within the emotion of the 1987 setting of the film. “Don’t Dream It’s Over” by Crowded House and “Rock Me Amedeus” just make 1987 that much better. It may be a rough economy out there, but spend the few bucks and go hit up Adventureland….if not at least for the music.
