Now that’s what I call a M*A*S*H*-Up!!!

Yesterday morning I was in the mood to listen to a song that echo’d in my virginal childhood ears every weekday evening (thanks to the amazing at-the-time new technology that was “syndication” and our hometown station, Seattle’s KSTW-11…your home for Mariners baseball!) and naturally, where else would I turn to seek out this song, but our sister (more like, 3rd cousin, twice removed) website YouTube. So I typed in “Suicide is Painless”, the title track to the popular television series “M*A*S*H*” and prepared to find a few weak covers mixed in with the original acoustic version that accompanied the Jaime Farr-led Korean War sitcom (back when TV had BALLS!). So imagine my surprise when I came upon this enriching 1992 cover by the band Manic Street Preachers. I immediately fell in love with it. Well, love might be too strong. But I lusted good.

Now is your turn to listen.

Enjoy.
