Ok,
So I think I’ll go out on a limb and say that at this point, Billy Corgan can do whatever the hell he wants to. Am I right?
In this case, he mixed the vocal way back–like demo tape back. The new track "Tarantuala" has been released (or leaked?) by Spinner.com and is getting a few sneers from people (who obviously never heard anything other than "Bullet with Butterfly Wings" and maybe bought the Zwan album–hey dorks, do you really think he didn’t mean for it to be mixed like that?), who are complaining about the new single.
For Pumpkin heads, this moment has been 7 years in the making, and I for one couldn’t be more excited!
The track is reminiscent of the early days of "Cherub Rock" or even "Siva." The track starts out fast, and (except for one short bridge) never slows down.
Did the song completely blow me away? Ok, maybe not. I can’t say that it’s my favorite SP track ever, but it’s good. It’s really good. The Pumpkins (or at least half of them) are rocking again. If that doesn’t thrill you, you might want to try someplace else
